About Joseph C. Bowers, MBA, CPA/PFS

Mr. Bowers is President of Independent Network, Inc. offering comprehensive financial services to individuals, professionals and the closely held business owners. He entered the financial service profession after obtaining his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Joseph’s University (Philadelphia).

Mr. Bowers is a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania and has earned his designation as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS). He is a registered Representative with The Investment Center, Inc. His broad financial background included previously held positions with Financial Advisory Network, Ltd. as Director in charge of Financial Planning, with Financial Foresight, Ltd., as a financial consultant, with Brennan Reports, Inc., as an investment manager, and with E.I. Dupont de Nemours and Company, Inc., as a financial analyst. He also worked as a staff accountant at the CPA firm Falconiero and Company. While attending graduate school, Mr. Bowers served on the corporate financial staff of General Motors Corporation. His teaching experience includes posts at St. Mary’s College, St. Joseph’s University, and others as an Income Tax and Financial Planning instructor.

Mr. Bowers’ memberships and offices include The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), The AICPA Personal Financial Planning Division, Pennsylvania Society of Tax & Accounting Professionals and The Delaware County Estate Planning Council. Mr. Bowers has lectured at numerous Health Care and Financial Planning Seminars around the country and has been the guest speaker on a radio broadcast financial talk show. 

Mr. Bowers was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania and is married to the former Helen Lane Hoyt. They have three grown daughters and four grandchildren.
